Rohini Pathak

Owner / Director

About Rohini

Rohini is an Indian-born electronics engineer turned early childhood educator, driven by a dream to create beautiful, intentional spaces for young learners. She holds a Program Director’s Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, training as a Montessori early childhood educator, and is a Certified Outdoor Classroom Teacher as well as a Certified Nutritional Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.

With over 10 years of experience in early childhood education, Rohini has led curriculum development, mentored teachers, and designed magical learning environments that nurture the whole child. Each space she creates is crafted with purpose—supporting both the direct and indirect aims of children’s growth.

Her greatest joy lies in witnessing young minds explore, question, and discover the “why” behind the world around them. Guided by a belief in fostering independence, confidence, and curiosity, Rohini’s goal is to empower every child to grow into a compassionate and capable changemaker in society.

Wazhma Masarweh

Director

My name is Wazhma Masarweh, and I am proud to serve as the Director here at Woolymammoth Preschool. I have been in the field of child development for over 30 years and have served as a Director for the past 8 years. During this time, I’ve had the opportunity to set up schools, lead programs in play-based and faith-based settings, and earn my Site Supervisor Permit.

My journey into early childhood education began while completing my B.A. in Psychology. During an internship at a childcare center, I discovered my passion for working with children. After graduation—and the birth of my first daughter—I knew I wanted a career that allowed me to balance family life while making a difference in children’s lives. My first role was as a teacher’s aide at Fountainhead Montessori School in 1996, and while I have explored other career paths along the way, I’ve always found myself returning to the preschool world.

As a Director, I enjoy supporting children, teachers, families, and the community. I am excited to bring people together in meaningful ways and create an environment where children can thrive.

Outside of work, I live in Pleasant Hill with my husband, our daughters Leena and Hanna, and our two cats, Toby and Puujo. I enjoy reading, listening to music, going for walks and hikes, and traveling to national parks. Weekends are often spent with my extended family—we love our tradition of Sunday lunches and brunches together.

Jasmine

Preschool Teacher

Hello, my name is Jasmine. I joined Woolly Mammoth Preschool in 2023 as a preschool teacher. My academic journey began in zoology, but I later transitioned into early childhood education after realizing my true passion was working with young children. I was inspired by my earlier experiences leading summer camps at the Oakland Zoo, where I loved engaging with children and encouraging their curiosity about the world.

As a teacher, I strive to make a meaningful impact by supporting children as they grow into confident, self-reliant, and independent learners. I believe children teach us just as much as we teach them, and I find great joy in guiding their discoveries.

Marzouka Djebra

Preschool Teacher

Hello, my name is Marzouka. I hold a diploma in Early Childhood Education from Berkeley College and a Child Development Associate Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. I am also currently working toward my GED with the goal of attending nursing school in the future.

I have three years of experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

I love supporting children as they grow, explore, and discover new things. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing their smiles and curiosity as they learn.

Children’s Book: The Very Hungry Caterpillar – I love how fun and colorful it is, and how it teaches children about growing and changing.

Ingrid L. Reyes

Infant Teacher

Hello, my name is Ingrid L. Reyes. I studied Industrial Maintenance at a university in Mexico and transitioned to early childhood education after moving to California. I have completed Early Childhood Education units to deepen my understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.

Before joining Woolly Mammoth Preschool, I worked as a private nanny for two years. I enjoy creating happy and engaging learning environments where children can explore, grow, and thrive.

Two's Teacher

Hello, my name is Leanna Scott, and I have been a teacher at Woolly Mammoth Preschool since 2020. I completed my Early Childhood Education studies at Chabot College and bring over 10 years of experience working with young children.

I love connecting with children and guiding them as they learn and grow. For me, teaching is a beautifully rewarding experience that allows me to nurture curiosity and confidence in each child.

Infant/Toddler Teacher

Hello, my name is Sujatha. I have been the Infant/Toddler Teacher at Woolly Mammoth Preschool for over five years. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree and have completed Early Childhood Education coursework focused on infants and toddlers.

I am a dedicated childcare professional committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for every child. I am experienced in planning age-appropriate activities, supervising meal times, scheduling, and fostering strong partnerships with parents to create a unique and supportive environment for each child. I truly enjoy teaching and find joy in watching children grow, explore, and express themselves through smiles and hugs.

Maya Evers

Two's Teacher

Hi, I’m Maya! I love creating caring and inclusive spaces where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them. I earned my B.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Denver, and I’ve had the privilege of teaching GED students, leading community service projects with AmeriCorps, and developing creative programming for youth. Teaching brings me joy because I get to keep learning alongside children while helping them grow into curious, confident, and kind learners.

Infant Teacher

Hello, my name is Mariely. I hold a degree in Industrial Engineering from Mexico, but after moving to the United States I discovered my true passion for working with young children. To strengthen my knowledge, I completed Early Childhood Education units focused on child growth and development and how best to support children in the classroom.

Before joining Woolly Mammoth Preschool in 2025, I worked as a nanny for many years. I enjoy watching children experience their “aha” moments as they learn, and I find great satisfaction in knowing that my love, patience, and play support their emotional and social development during these important early years.
