At Woolly Mammoth Preschool, we combine the power of play-based learning with the values of peace, kindness, and cultural awareness. Our classrooms are joyful, creative spaces where children are encouraged to explore, imagine, and grow—both as learners and as human beings.
A Child-Centered, Play-Based Approach
We believe that play is how children make sense of their world. Every day, our students engage in hands-on, open-ended activities that support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Through block-building, storytelling, painting, gardening, and pretend play, children discover and learn in ways that are meaningful to them.
Our teachers observe carefully, guiding gently introducing new ideas, asking thoughtful questions, and creating opportunities to extend learning based on each child’s interests.

While rooted in a play-based philosophy, we take inspiration from the Montessori principles of peace education, respect, and independence. We believe that kindness and empathy are foundational skills—so we teach them intentionally, every day. Conflict resolution, emotional expression, and peer relationships are supported with care and attention.

Raising Global Citizens
At Woolly Mammoth, children learn about the world through authentic experiences. World geography is introduced early, and students explore cultural traditions through stories, music, food, and celebrations from around the globe. We teach diversity not as a separate subject, but as an essential part of everyday life—helping children build a natural respect for different perspectives, communities, and ways of being.
